FARM MANAGEMENT HANDBOOK
The Department of Agriculture has provided a
reference manual for over two decades, aiming to provide concise and
up-to-date information at farmers fingertips. It was first published in booklet format, with
new editions printed and distributed every two to three years, but inevitably
these were soon out-of-date shortly after printing!!
In 2004, it was decided that in order to keep the Handbook as up-to-date as
possible, it would be distributed to farmers in ring binder form, therefore when
updates were needed, replacement pages could just be posted out with the Wool
Press and the farmer could change the relevant page over in the Handbook folder
without the need to reprint the whole document.
The Farm Management Handbook consists of five sections, General, Legal & Codes
of Practise, Livestock & Wool, Pasture Improvement and Veterinary and is
provided free of charge to farmers and is also published on the DOA website.
