Burning Permits
Burning permits are required for anyone burning land after September 15th. Please apply in writing by emailing the Department of Agriculture or fax 27352 giving details and a map of the area to be burnt at least 48 hours prior to wanting to carry out the burn. Please note that grass fires will only be permitted on wet white grass flats on weekdays during September and no permits will be issued for burns after 30th September due to drier conditions increasing wildfire risk and increasing environmental impact. Please ensure the burning guidelines are followed when considering burning trash from cultivated ground this summer.
