Mac McArthur
Senior Agricultural Advisor
Trained as an agricultural scientist
specialising in extension and farm management, I have held senior management
roles in two Australian Departments of Agriculture. My career has been primarily
associated with the sheep, beef cattle and grazing industries and I have a
particular interest in the genetic improvement of livestock.
I have had experience working as a stockman/shepherd, managing properties and as
an agricultural business consultant in both New Zealand and Australia.
My role is to lead and work closely with the dedicated and professional team of
DOA staff to ensure that the Department’s clients (farmers and others) receive
the advice and support they require to make their businesses as profitable as
possible. Also to encourage the adoption of agricultural management practices
and technologies to improve the economic viability of Falkland Island farms.
